Crawl locks up

While tilling deep to plant potatoes I shifted the transmission into crawl as i was not doing a long run and was wanting to till rean fine. When I was finished I could not get the crawl pop up to release and was locked in that position for quite awhile. Finally got it to release and wanted to know if anyone had any tricks for this feature .... YM2020 power shift 2wd.

Did you try easing out on the clutch a little? Sometimes especially in real low gears the gears will bind. Putting a little movement to them will ease that binding. Might have to use forward and backward movement.

My creep gear is hard to get back out of too. I find backing up a little helps but I think its the nature of them that and they don't get used much so they probably tend to be sticky and tight.

Thanks for the tips !! I think part of my problem the other day was that I was on a very slight slope when i was trying to get out of crawl. Tried it again today and for what it is worth going into reverse helps get the crawl knob to pop up. My fear was that I would have to use the tractor in creep to get it back to the barn. For all I know it may never have been used very much.
