Layla is about Harrisons wife that Eric took,I think Clapton done Harrison a favor....Harrisons second wife Oliva Arias is a beautiful Mexican lady and stayed with George right up to the end. Harrison said,he and Clapton were "huband in laws"
I read that Harrisons only child a son that looks just like George ,Dhani Harrison inherited $264,000,000 from his dear father.

Remember the " Guess Who" The Canadian band ???? Burton Cummings the lead singer ...what a voice !!!!!! More trivia....Randy Bachman and BTO were recording " Taking Care of Business" the pizza delivery boy makes a delivery to the studio while Bachman is working on the song,the pizza delivery boy offers/asks to play the piano on the intro and Bachman says ok...1 try and 1 try only....the next morning Bachman is playing the song back and decides he is going to erase the piano and his producer says ...don't you dare erase it,it sounds great,thus the pizza delivery boy piano playing is on the record the released version....

To my knowledge George and Eric were still friends so maybe Eric took her with Georges blessing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif More trivia...On Layla , The opening lead guitar AND the slide guitar that comes in behind it are both by Duane Allman. And at the end of the song when you hear the parakeet chirping...It's Duanes Parrokeet "Charlie Parker"
Duane is not on the first 4 songs on the album. He came in after they had already started it. The Allman Brothers were in town and Eric went to see them. Him and Duane met after the show and Eric invited him to help out with the album. Eric thought Layla would be more of a ballad ,but when Duane came up with the opening Riff .......

Zappa and Lennon on stage in the early 70's, I think it was the Filmore East....talk about some good guitar playing...Cold Turkey....
Zappa was a different dude.....different in his own light....but then again Lennon wasnot your average person either...2 mad artists together...its a shame they never wrote together...who knows what they might have created....

I have always been intrigued where the title Layla came from? I have this theory. Bizet wrote an opera called "The pearl fishers", which incidently contains probably the best male duet in opera,and its about two friends who split over the love of girl called leila. You may think this is up there with Dark side of the moon and the wizard of oz,(new thread???), but its IMO
