there has to be an adjustment on the pedal linkage that fixes that, it has to be adjusted properly with the tractor on jack stands so it don't move while you are adjusting it!. the service manual will tell you how to do this, or have your service center do the adjustment. if you look down at the bottom of the page, you'll see "similar threads" not for your tractor, but it gives a good idea where to start..

OK thanks very much

I realize this thread is a bit old but thought I'd pass on my experience in case it is of help. Last winter one time I had moved the tractor out of the garage to warm up at idle and the tractor shut off when I got off to put up the ROPS. It wouldn't restart until awhile later despite moving the pedal around to try to find neutral. It didn't happen again so I never figured out the problem until yesterday when I was doing some grading and found the tractor would start to creep or would shut down when I got off to change the blade angle. When it shut down it did not want to restart though as before eventually did. I didn't see anything wrong with the pedal or linkage from underneath but when I removed the small plastic cover on the operator station (cab version may be different) I could see that the bearing on the neutral arm was not consistently returning the cam on the shaft for the HST swash plate to dead centre. Sometimes this was off just enough to creep, sometimes far enough to creep and trip the neutral switch. The design seems to rely on the cam/bearing/spring to hold the HST swash plate in neutral but if the spring can't overcome friction and force the bearing right to the centre of the cam the pedal might initially put the HST at neutral but vibration will be able to move the HST away from neutral. I first cleaned all the dust and debris from the cam and bearing with a significant improvement, the bearing now moved the cam to dead centre. I then cleaned and lubricated all the linkage pivots and it got smoother still. I pivoted the bearing off the cam and checked the bearing turned smoothly and with the pedal moved off the neutral switch checked the switch wasn't sticking or binding. I haven't had chance for extensive use but a few tests in the driveway and the bearing/cam seems always to return to and stay at neutral now. As an added bonus the occasional jerk when starting the tractor moving seems better, probably a combination of lubricating the linkage and not having the neutral bearing jump around on the cam. I don't have a MMM but if your problem is same as mine the little plastic cover gives full access to the cam and bearing, just not to the linkages and neutral switch.

Ok on that...it is never too late to discuss this stuff. that is exactly what my machine was doing and this is very very helpful...thanks
