Creosote everywhere -- cleanup ideas?

I believe you have it right. If you have the wrong genes you can do everything right and still get cancer. Or exercise and diet right and still have high blood pressure, etc...

NOT having the proper genes makes you much much more susceptible to environmental carcinogens due to the protooncogenic genes being turned on by the alkalytating and electrophillic agents that ones body comes in contact though the air, water, food, etc. Your lungs, eyes, skin, intestines, etc. are your first line of defense, once a chemical substance makes past them, only your genetic constitution can detoxify that agent and excrete it from your body via sulfation, conjugation, phosphorlation, etc. to make it water soluable to get it out of your system.

Toxic hazardous chemicals in the environment cause the vast majority of human cancers.

Every pole out there that is slightly brown or now turning grey is a old blackjack, creosote soaked. There are some cedars and others but most are blackjacks. The were used until about 10 years ago when they went to the greenys. About the same time the Gov. mandated MTBE to be used, go figure. Most of the board fences that are not painted are creosoted. I dont know any farmers having there boobs cut off.

You should take care not to get anything chem wise on you, but that is no reason to run around like a pre dinner yard bird if you get a drop of creosote on you.
