Seem like a bad idea. I just looked up some temps; what I found was crockpots can heat up to around 190F. Didn't find much on autoignite temps of gloves, but found one source that says oily cotton can combust at 120C (248F). I know my gloves can get oily.
I bet 190F is the temp measured of liquid, but without liquid, hot spots in the crock may be a lot higher, possibly in the 250F range, which would be bad.

I just use an old blow drier. Use it on my hands, down my back, ect. The guys at work laughed at me when I got it out of the truck and then lined up for a chance to use it.

As I posted in the "cold hands" thread...most of the time I use the cheap brown gloves you can buy in bulk at TSC...I use a small "hothands" chemical warmer and keep one pair wrapped around the hand warmer in a pocket and when the cold get through the pair I have on I switch to the warm pair...
on really cold days I use two warmers and 3 pair of the gloves...

I just looked and we have five crock pots, and now we have four and I have one. :thumbsup:
Found a couple other threads on cold hands in different forums, got a lot of good ideas.
I use those chemical handwarmers a lot, but never thought to preheat the gloves with them. I usually stick them to the back of my hand under the glove, when my fingers get cold I put them on the back of my hands.
Yeah, we had 4 of them. I didn't ask why we needed 4 crockpots.
