Are crosman air guns decent quality?? I picked me up a 760-d at wal-mart for target shooting, annoying neighbor hood pets, and the occasional varment.. I had a scope I put on it.. It is pretty accurate, and decent power.. Nice gun for the money..

Thanks......

Sounds like you ansered your won question. I have one, I figure it is good for up to 20 ft for a barn door.
Oops, I just looked, it is a Daisy Eagle .177

Here’s a thread on Air Guns. It should answer all your questions about the one you bought and others.

snapper,

Just kidding, right. Beware of the ASPCA.

I bought a RWS model 34. It's 1000 or 1100 FPS. The recoil from the spring kicks more than my BT 99.

i don't intend to kill.. Make sure they are at a distance, pump a couple three times aim a bb at there hind side, and most get the picture real quick.. Not enough to enjure them but enough where they get the point..

Snapper, i've had a few airguns from the crosman 760,1400,2100 and older benjinmins also a newer rws54.
Your not going to drive tacks with it but its still a nice piece, still have mine. One thing I might add if you can find some felt cleaner "pellets" for cleaning the bore are great. Not that you'll get a build up in the bore but oil them up and run them through the gun. I've gone though alot of them in the past alittle oil... close range...hind end of a pest that you don't want to put down...just practice with the range first.

I'm interested in picking one up myself. The Benjamin-Sheridan (owned by Crosman, BTW) blue streak certainly looks nice and fits the bill for me. Being able to moderate the force with a pump is a necessity.

Will it shoot BB's? I know most higher-end air rifles can't (or shouldn't).

pbenven, the blue streak is 20 cal(cb9) if you look at the 397 it is 177 cal and that should do BB's but I don't know if the bolt has a magnet in it to keep the BB's from rolling out. Most of the higher end guns go for pellets because they accept the rifling and travel staighter. Look at mussle loaders, they shoot round ball but a connicle bullet works better, same for airguns. A good pellet expands to seal the air from passing and to grab the rifling. BB's are the cheapest then you start looking at pellets and the price can go up quickly. I don't notice a major differance in my lower end guns but in the high end it does show in the group size. The guns can still shoot better groups than I can /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
When in doubt put a BB in close the bolt and point the barrel to the ground if the bb roles out your going to be shooting pellets /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Kind of a long winded .02 sorry

Cheers

Mine has the rifled barrel.. I found that when trying to hit something dead on I use pellets because they shoot pretty true.. Bbs no telling. One time I set it in the same place every time, the bb's never hit the same place twice.. But when i tried pellets they were all pretty close.. I put pointed pellets through a piece of wet 1/4" ply wood at about 10-15 feet.. I love my scope.. I just could never get use to those open sightss.. Then i lost the front sight so i am now stuck with the scope..

Thanks..
