Thanks for the tips, MR. Especially the extra gas suggestion!!

No problem on my tailgate (Chevy) as I remove it regularly. I would think the tailgate strong enough to take the weight but will probably pick up the PT without it just because it'll be easier to forklift the pallets into the bed without it.

I'm not exactly understanding your attached pipes, and since you sold the pickup you can't take a photo. Guess it'll work out. With time I'll figure out a secure system, but the initial pickup of the unit will be dealing with a few unknowns, less so with your help.

Are each of the attachments light enough to be lifted by two (over 50) men? Mini-hoe, stump grinder, light materials bucket, pallet forks, etc.? I'm planning on taking a friend and cutting whatever bands hold the attachments to the pallet, then manually unloading the attachments before returning for the next pallet. There's a forklift available to put the pallets into the pickup.

I still have the pickup. I just don't have it plated for the road anymore. I need to yank the 350 out of it and stuff it in my Toyota, but that's a post for another thread. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'll throw the ramps on it and take some pictures this weekend, time and weather permitting.

The attachments can be lifted by two people, but three would be better. What I did was used the pallet forks to load the mower, brush hog and snow plow. The forks are easily lifted by one person. I can lift one end of the mower deck myself, but as I posted in another thread, I dropped it on my toes(all better now, by the way).

My suggestion would be to get the tractor home with the forks first. Then you can use it to unload the trucks as you bring home skids. Just cut the strapping and maneuver things to the rear of the pickup until you can reach them with the forks. You should be fine if you take your time. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks again, MR. If I lived closer I'd take you out to Steak and Shake. (Wish we had them here, those and the big red barn places -- "Bob ???" --- both memories of good food in Indiana).

I'll try and arrange for two to help me if possible. And if it's convenient for you to get those photos, maybe I can rig something for the ramps before they get here.

Sure do like your site. Since no one out here has ever heard of PTs, I link them all to your site and have them watch the videos. Better than the PT site to explain what this thing is and does.

Could that be Bob Evans or Bob's Big Boy? Either one would be fine with me as I never met a meal I didn't like! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Thanks for the compliments. Our PT website has been stagnant for a while with no major changes. I think I'll add a web cam this winter, so people can see it sitting in the garage when it is not in use. Ooooo that sounds exciting! Well, not really, but something to do. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"" maybe I can rig something for the ramps before they get here ""

A quick, cheap, and effective solution for the ramp to bed interface is to place the ramp into position on the edge of the bed, drill a 1/2" hole vertically through both the ramp and bed, and drop a 1/2" X 6" hex head bolt down through both. (No nut required.)

Yep. I did that with my old wood ramps with metal ends for my lawn tractor. It wouldn't go anywhere after you pin it like that.

Hey, Fourteen, that sounds like a good idea. I have a cordless drill so with some charged batteries and a couple of bolts, I could do that at the loading dock in a couple of minutes. With that and the extra gas MossRoad suggested, maybe this will go smoothly.

MR: Yes!! BOB EVANS!! Great food (at least back in the late seventies and early eighties when we were Indiana a few times every month). And as I said, STEAK AND SHAKE was the best!! And the award for worst would go to the HoJo on the turnpike. Has anything changed in the last couple of decades?

When we traveled with our kids, we would threaten that we'd take them to Bob Evans if they didn't behave! I don't recall ever having a decent meal in one. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Of course, I don't recall if we ever tried one in Indiana. That might have made a difference! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

HoJo was great when they had Ice Cream parlors in the restaraunts. Remember the green and orange roofs? The one here in South Bend moved down the road and closed the eats. Bummer. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Bob Evans has good breakfasts. We eat there a few times a year. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
