For months I have been looking for a stabilizer for the cross drawbar on my BX2200. I found one that locked the drawbar to the lower 3PH arm but when I got it home it did not fit. I finally decided to collaborate with a local fabricating shop and came up with the stabilizer shown in the attached picture. It works great.

Since there are not many companies that make this device do you think that I could sell them on Ebay? I would need to sell them for at least $60 (primered version) to make a small profit.

When can you ship me one? I want one now. Just let me know what this thing weighs and I will order one now. Just make sure you have some more pictures and instructions for mounting etc. Also, I can't tell by the picture if you can still use the 3PH to lower or raise the drawbar. Let us know....but looks great to me.

Don, per your request here is a picture taken further back so that you can see how the stabilizer attaches to the drawbar and the toplink.

John,

You'd have another taker here for this drawbar stabilizer. Nice job!

I'll take one and I'll bet my dealer could use some as well.

I could use one also. It would have to be CatII, and capable of lifting 2200lbs.. I'd prefer a 2x2 receiver stub in place of the ball, however. That way, I could use a ball hitch, pintle or clevis.

Where did you get the stabilizer bars to replace the chains. Your systems looks a lot easier to adjust than the chains and turnbuckles that came with my BX2200

That's what I was looking at as well. This guy is great! All of the laziness of me, with all of the inititive and hard work to do something about it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

John, you and your fab shop came up with a nice clean design. It shows that they took the time to do a good job, some of the shops around here would have just hacked it together and gave you the feeling they are doing you a favor.

watersjj, up in "attachments" is a thread started by walt heres the link
link to adjusters

5030 I can't post a pic from work but here is a link to a pic of the one I made

To all... Thanks for the responses. I think I will have a quantity made and I will take a crack at selling them on Ebay. I want to make sure that everyone is clear on the fact that the drawbar and ball will not be included for the $60. The stabilizer is designed to fit a BX2200 or BX1800. The drawbar on my BX has (7) 3/4 inch holes. The stabilizer holes to mount to the drawbar are on 12 inch centers. I would appreciate it if a few would check their drawbar to see if the hole spacing on your drawbar is the same as mine. Also, I do not plan on finish painting the stabilizer. It will have a coat of primer but you will need to apply a finish coat.

5030... What I would be selling is just the stabilizer (gray A frame that attaches between the drawbar and toplink in pictures)

watersjj & rouge... The lower arm stabilizers are from a larger Kubota (2910 I think). I got the idea from a TBN thread. It is a great improvement over the turnbuckles and it is easy to install. I think super7 provided the link.

(rouge, you are not far from me, my wife is from Butler.)

JWE, How tall is the stabilizer? From the drawbar to the top link mount.

Thanks. Dave...

RiverV... about 14 inches from the drawbar to the center of the pin that connects to the toplink.

John, have you started production of this stabilizer?
Also I was noticing on your picture that you have replaced the lower link turnbuckles on your BX2200. Do you have the part number for these? I have read a thread somewhere just in the past couple of days regarding this, but can find it now.
I believe that somebody has used the same part number that was off of a B2710, but am not sure.
Advise if you have part number, I sure would like to get one to help stabilize the sway.

Don, I haven't had time to visit with the fabricator. I will try to do that within the next two weeks.

I did replace the turnbuckles with the telescoping units off the 2710. I will find the thread and post. You will never regret making that mod!

The link is back a ways in this thread. I just used Walt's detailed instructions (included) and I can't imagine being without them on my BX.
(From and earlier discussion submitted by Walt)

As promised, here is the update to my initial post. I was at my dealer yesterday, and inquired about the interchangability of the telescopic adjusters for the turnbuckles.
We removed the tele. adjusters from a B2710, and sized them to a BX 2200. It was a close enough fit. My dealer (Leahy Equip., Holyoke Mass.) was kind enough to sell me the tele. adjusters from the B2710, saving me another trip.
The telescopic adjusters are sold as (1) flat bar & (1) receiver tube bar. The part #'s are: flat 6C070-65333 and receiver 6C070-65320. You need (1) each for each side, for a total of two flat bars & two receiver tube bars.
The cost was $13.65 each for a total of $54.60 + tax.
It would appear that the B7500 & B2410 could also use this modification.

This A.M. I took apart the turnbuckle assembly to mount the replacement telescopic adjusters.
The two modifications to the tele. adjusters are as follows:
1. Flat bar: A second hole (7/16") needs to be drilled behind the first hole, to accommidate the "U" pin that attaches to the front adjuster swing plate. Once drilled the "U" pin will fit into the bar end.
2. Receiver Bar: On the bar end that attaches to the lower lift arm, cut & remove approx. 1" of the side of the receiver tube. This allows the receiver bar to fit onto the metal tab on the lower lift arm, using the original pin to secure it. This is easily done with a 4 1/2" hand grinder with a cut off wheel.

Once I figured out how to make it work, it took about 30 minutes to complete the job, and reassemble the three point hitch. You also need a locking pin to set the side to side movement.

I then mounted my M40 rotary cutter, effortlessly adjusting the side to side play of the lower lift arms, vs. wrenching on the turn buckle adjusters of the BX2200.

Summarizing this long winded story, if you have a BX1800-2200, B7500 or B2410, you might consider this fix, speeding up your 3 point hook-up time, while reducing your aggrivation.

HAPPY TRACTORING:

Gary:

Let me echo your sentiments. I too, upgraded my BX 2200's *$$#* turnbuckles for the telescoping assembly from a 2710. It now takes a few seconds to switch from weight box to rake to nothing. The instructions you had for fitting the pieces to the arms is right on.....too bad Kubota doesn't provide the telescoping as standard equipment.

Does anyone know if these particular parts would fit a B7100D?

Are these available for sale for Kubota BX 2360?

Thx,
