Cruelest Christmas joke!!!

( I couldn't believe this woman thought her husband would find any humor in this, but today I was at my Kubota dealer discussing options when a woman came over to the parts department to buy a plastic toy Kubota and a tractor key. Her plan was to wrap the key and present it at Christmas with a note saying "Look in the garage." Of course, she had no intention of getting him a tractor so all he'd find would be the toy tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif )

You don't know that for sure. Maybe another family member bought the tractor and what she is doing is all part of the gag. Something similar happened in our family except it was a CAR.

I agree we should be looking for the good intentions in poeple, but why spend the money on the extra key if the tractor is already bought. Still possible [as mentioned before], she's saying "let's get a tractor."

Or maybe it is a cruel joke [whether deserved or not]. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If it was a cruel joke I would be down at the dealer buying a new tractor on Mon morning... and maybe some implements too, maybe they would take her car in trade? That might make it possible to buy an even bigger tractor...

She probably plans to video tape his reaction, send it in to some funny but cruel video show on TV and win $20,000 for cruelest "prank," then use the money to buy him the actual tractor. Yeah, I'm sure that's what she has in mind. I mean, what else could it be?

One way to make sure that it is not a BAD joke is to ALWAYS include your wife in on the projects that you complete and need machinery for. Once she understands that all that grass, dirt doesn't get mowed or moved by magic, then she'll be very agreeable. I would guess that they are planing to get a tractor, but the timing just is a little off. Personally, I would laugh. That is a good one.

My wife and I were looking at cars, I said an old used pickup would work fine for me and she said she wanted something sporty, something that would go from 0 to 200 in a matter of seconds...I got her a set of bathroom scales.... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I hope so, but she was very adamant that a tractor was completely unneccesary and she had no intention of having one in her family. She made a big show of listing the other things they needed: new car, new appliances, a house so they could stop renting. Or maybe she said all that for the benefit of the guys in the dealer...to keep the secret.

Or MAYBE she's just a mean spirited, evil old hag? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
