Cruise Control

Question.....
Does the cruise disengage when the clutch is pushed in?

I have read here the brake and possibly the hydro pedal cuts it off, but have not seen clutch mentioned. My reason....if mowing with cruise and encountering bumps I wanted to slow for by pushing in the clutch then releasing to resume cruise, is that possible without resetting the cruise.

OrangeBlueGreen... PineRidge's TC40D is a Class III New Holland Boomer with a hydrostatic transmission. All these hydro tractors do not have a clutch. If it did have a clutch, I'm pretty sure the cruise would disengage. Maybe one of the guys with a Class II Boomer like a TC29D or TC33D will chime in and explain how their cruise control is mechanized.

I’m not as familiar with NH and which ones have clutches. I’ve been looking at mostly TC24DA TC26DA hydro. I tried out a DX26 hydro (had a clutch) but forgot to see if the cruise disengaged. I know on the mechanical (orange brand) the cruise stays on when you clutch.

BTW....saw your comment about ugly headlights....I couldn’t agree more, probably one reason to buy a red one. I tend to bash out headlights carrying things and can only imagine what those “demon cat-eyes” would look like broken. Probably get used to them I suppose.

Don’t know how I missed the long term 0% I wasn’t looking at blue and was sleeping I guess, apparently they didn’t do a great job getting that word out to anyone who wasn’t already looking at blue/red but looks like their terms are better now than orange.

Orangebluegreen,
On my DX 33 the cruise does NOT disengage when you press in on the clutch. It is simply a magnet holding the hydro pedal and there is no switch to disengage the cruise when the clutch is depressed. Cruise disengagement only happens when you press the brake or turn off the cruise switch.

You can depress the clutch and slow down, then release the clutch and the cruise will resume. I would be careful about burning the clutch if you have the engine at higher rpm though.

Hope that helps,
