My B20 has a crushed hydraulic line just before the front mounted pump inlet. It appears that it would be restricting flow by about 50%. What impacts would this be having on either the Loader, Backhoe or drive hst ???

Thanks!!

You will have slower hydraulic action with reduced flow, damage/seizure to hydraulic pump from cavitation over long term use...

John is right about reduced flow, but the line is sized for max flow at high engine rpm - which may not be your everyday situation. Many times the engine is running in the mid rpm range - where there would be less effect on hydraulic performance. Also, the effect will be greatest when the oil is cold, decreasing as the oil warms up.

It would be best to replace the crushed pipe - but running while it is restricted may be ok if you go easy on rpm. If you notice any notchy motion though, best not to run it.

Understood. Would it, if cavitating, be causing A) a whining sound while moving, and B)a loss of power to the back hoe?

This may sound real ignorant, but as this was the way I obtained it I have nothing to compare it too. Does this front mounted pump drive the HST as well as loader etc??

Thx..

If the engine is runing at high rpm and air is entrained in the hyd fluid, the oil is foamy and hydraulic power will suffer (along with other things as JM pointed out)

But if engine is at low enough rpm so the oil is not aerating, the pump should put out full pressure. The backhoe would then develop full digging force - but the motion would be slower.

Another wrinkle here is that for manufacturing reasons Kubota uses the same size tubing for a range of systems - your tubing may actually be larger than it ever really needs to be. Or it might be near the limit where the next bigger rig uses the next tubing size.

No clue about HST whine. Need to start with someone telling us how many pumps your rig has.
