CT120 Oil In The Radiator

I see. Given it's proximity to the radiator, I thought it used radiator coolant to remove the heat from the tranny fluid. I guess it just exchanges the heat with the air. (I don't have the HST, so haven't seen the heat exchanger in person).

Since I have had a blown oil cooler, I can speak to the fact that the oil coiler is basically similar to a radiator. There are only 2 lines for the cooler, an in and an out. The oil just passes through the oil cooler. That is for the Hydraulic oil. The engine oil is cooled by the radiator, so if there is a mix, then it would have to be with the engine oil and the coolant.

By the way, you do want to make sure the screen in front of the radiator stays clean. I've noticed that my oil temp can go out of the good range, and when I check, it is always because the screen is clogged up w. stuff. I've done quite a bit of brush hogging in some tall weeds.

definately not a head gasket, it would just blow air into the coolant and empty the tank. has to be an engine oil cooler in the radiator. this would would mean you need a new radiator and a good flushing of the engine. i will check to see if in fact there is an engine oil cooler in my radiator and will reply if there is none. hope you have a sharp tech working on your pride and joy! good luck

Why are you so sure it is not a head gasket? It is doing three things at the same time. :D

I don't see how you can say it's NOT a head gasket when you have oil passages and water passages passing through the head..

I can't believe no one has suggested a cylinder sleeve gone bad..from cavitation (unlikely), crack, or slipped. Though I'm not sure if that motor has sleeves or not.

If it's the same as a CK20S it is a non-sleeved engine.
More than likely it is the head gasket.
Better get it to the dealer...........

is it too late to change the word i stated 'from 'definately'', to ''probably''. nothing is definate. was not my intention to be that arogant. was a full moon i guess. anyway, i checked my ct122 and it does not seem to have an engine oil cooler in the radiator. hummm, probably a head gasket! lmao
