If I were you, I'd coat ALL exposed wiring ends and wire connections that might be exposed to salt or salt diluted blowback with Fluidfilm. It is available most everywhere, and used a LOT by farmers and similar who have their tractors and equipment out in the elements.
It creates an impenetrable film that remains sticky and fluid like to deter salt and oxygen from attaching to exposed metal. I've used it for years and it works very well.
