- John Deere M, John Deere LX178, Cub Cadet 1610 hydro
Some of you might remember me posting a while back about wanting to put a loader on our JD lx178. The result was that we decided to find a different host tractor.
I found a cubs cadet 1610 hydro on craigslist for $75 and could not pass it up. The previous owner hacked it up pretty bad, but it runs and drives and the frame is good.
The frame is nice and heavy and should hold a loader nicely. It has been spray painted black and has a big #01 on it in marking paint. The seat has been replaced with a truck seat with 2 armrests and an adjustable back with headrest.
The tires are shot and the front end needs work. I am excited! I just have to figure out how I am going to mount the hydro pump. The guy who did this should not have access to a welder because the tiny steering wheel fell off and his "welds" look like bird poop. Unfortunately, the leg guards he tried to weld on actually stuck.......figures. I have a torch and a grinder, and they will be gone in no time. The front end will get beefed up and I don't know what I am going to do with the rear end. It can stay the way it is for now, but will likely need beefing up when I decide to install a hoe.
On the plus side, The guy I got it from wants me to build him a loader when I am done with mine.:dance1:
I had a better one lined up this morning for $40, but someone beat me to it.
Oh Well.
Sorry, no pics yet.
