Cub 2544, 18 hours and my transaxle is leaking!!!

Hey, gang...

About ten minutes ago I went to unhook my trailer from my 2005 2544, and when I pulled my hand out from under the tow plate, it was covered with a dusty, greasy paste. Apparently, it looks as though the transaxle is leaking from between the segments. With 18 hours on the clock, this has me quite nervous. I didn't have time to check the level (wife was calling me to leave for church) so I was unable to see if maybe the oil is coming from the fill hoe, or maybe from the filter. The machine does not slip or anything.

Anyone have a similar issue?

Until you confirm where the leak is coming from I can speculate that its not serious - and if I had to guess it is coming from where the filler and rubber gromet (on the axle) meet. You can take the rear cover off, and with that the level and filler tube. My bet is its is leaking from there, maybe because the fluid level is to high....

I AGREE.

Mine was over filled at the factory by at least half a quart! Did the same thing until the dealer drained it and refilled to the proper level.

I thought mine was leaking to BUT I later found that it was grease spatter from the deck and I get the same thing all over after I regrease. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about have you noticed actual drips or puddles under the tranny?
