Did I read this right in that it gives you the same two hydraulic controls like on the JD 318? If not is there a different kit that you need to buy to add the extra ram?

yes you read it correctly....the front hitch comes with two outlets for the front blower (up /down) you would need the extra outlet and cylinder put on the hitch for a blade (left/right)

The hitch is a quick attach format. The front blower just slides into place (drive up to blower), connect driveshaft via coupler and your done.
