Thank you guys !! actually in Mickeys case he has been using his Cub for tasks better suited for a compact - but it did them without complaint....or maybe it did complain when it was replaced by a Yanmar compact? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi there,
Im in Australia and have just bought a CC1042, had problems after the first hour with vibrations and this was fixed, at 1.5 hrs the starter motor wouldn't fire so entire machine was replaced with another machine brand new.
Now as per my previous post the machine at 3.5 hrs is sluggish when going uphill, has no power (slope about 27 degrees), they are about to give it back after having replaced the hydro tansmission, does this sound like it might be good? We live a long way from the dealer you see, we paid more for a trouble free machine or less trouble machine- so we thought.
(In respect to the dealer we are quite impressed but at this stage we can't say the same about a cub cadet that we bought for 4200 when we could have bought a brand new basic MTD rideon for 2500 - effectively until it works smoothly for a reasonable length of time (lets say till next normal service) we are going to think we have bought a bit of a lemon I guess.)

The nearest it complanied was when I had to on several occassions cut some grass that was between 12"-20", heavy and wet. Just too much grass for my 48" mower. The last time used in the way I took the brace off that runs across the bottom of the discharge shute. After that, nothing stopped the mower.

Got the CUT because of the rest of the pasture that needed cutting and I felt is was time to stop using my BIL's CUT. Now with my own, I won't have to wait so long between mowings.

The only complaints with the Cub are: I wish the deck would raise higher, had a little more room between the steering wheel and seat and they wouldn't have been so tight with the $ for the adhesive on the decals. I'm sure they only used .001" acrylic adhesive and should have been the .003" that is available. Would have made all the diff in the world.

Hi Mickey,

When I switched out the tires, I gained height. The 4 ply tires are both taller and wider than the 2 plys...how much depends on the tires, but as much as 2.5" can be had (rear) 1.5 front
