I changed original blades to high lift for leaf pickup.

When I removed them, I noticed that they were all cutting on one side of each blade.

Is this normal due to deck tilted down slightly in the front? Or is this an indication the deck isn't level.

Thanks

Tell us some more on the type of deck and the part number on the blades (stamped on the old baldes as well as new)
The cutting edge is on one side, the other side creates the lift, and might have a sweeping angle if its a high lift blade. This of course is based on stock blades. After market blades have all types of cutting edges ( Gators, etc)..I have a 3204 with the 44" deck, which has high lift blades for mulching ( stock)..
Do you have the 48" or higher?

I have a 54" deck. Stock blades. 759-3820(3)
I think you might have misunderstood. It only cuts on one side of each blade. Say you mark your blades on each end, left and right, it only cuts on the right . The paint on the bade was gone on the cutting edge and lift section on one end only.

Thanks for your reply.

I have a 3206 with the 54" deck and I really love it. I have 2 sets of blades that I rotate as they get dull. I have never seen a blade only cut from one end and not the other. My blades wear evenly on both ends.

The only way I can think of the blades wearing on one end would be if the mounting hole were not centered in the blade. If this is the case, I would think your deck would vibrate terribly as a off center hole would cause the blade to be out of balance/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

The other possibility is that the blade is twisted with one edge up and the other down, doing most of the cutting. Talk to your dealer or better yet, show him the blades and see what he recommends.

Good luck and please let us know what the final solution is/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.
