Cub 7264 front PTO problem

I'm a newbie 12/19/22. I have a 2005 CUB 7264 with the 54 in. snow thrower with never a problem. Just started with 1st snowfall this winter. After approx 45 mins of normal running the PTO switch blinked and auger stopped. Lever position in FWD 2000 RPM position and didn't slip out of gear. Reset switch several times and auger would start but increasing speed under NO LOAD switch blinks and auger stops. Strange after running 45 min normal. Any oldtimers have any suggestions for this 83 year old ancient?
