I purchased a 1968 Cub Cadet 105, and the previous owner said he shorted out the two terminals on the amp gauge in the dash, while working on the battery. Since then it wont charge any more. Could the voltage regulator of fried when he shorted the two terminals on the amp gauge ?

Thanks much.

I believe that you have a regulator problem. Normally when the starter generator goes bad it won't start either. But why was he working on the battery? You might have a short otherwise that might be causing your trouble.

I'm not sure why he was working on the battery. I did by pass the amp gauge to make sure it wasnt the gauge it self.

I will try a new regulator.

Thanks much !
