Cub Cadet 2521

( Thanks for this input. I have to agree with your ideas on new versus used. One added question that has come up concerns engines. The 2521 uses a Briggs & Stratton whereas the 2523 uses a Kohler. I have heard that the new B&S's with the pressurized systems are as good but cost less. True of false I don't know does anyone have any input on this issue?)

I don't think the price varies much. I am partial to the Vangaurd. Kohler makes great engines as well. If I could choose, I would go with the B&S. Any decent tractor will have an engine with pressurized oil system. All of the CC 2000 and up series offer quality engines regardless of the brand. I think that the 2521 is a great buy.

Actually the price difference is at least $400. More as I would not get the deal on a 2523 (the Kohler unit). ALthough the dealer stated that next year all of the CC's would have Kohlers.

Also I wonder if the 2521 with a reinforced front blade, bar tires and weights would push gravel such as to make a pathway or road bed for a NGR (2') around the backyard?

Chris

PS And if I don't say it enough I really appreciate and want to thank everyone for all of the information (and yes the questions can be as enlightening as the answers) the posters on these forums provide.

Are we talking just the engine or the tractor? The 2523 will be more as is has a bigger engine and a larger cutting deck.

I have asked the same questions. I don't think it would be a problem to do that but it might take a little more time than a tractor with a FEL or boxblade. But half the fun of a tractor is being on it!
