is there a difference between the size/fit and quality of o.e.m. cub belts vs. aftermarket,like husky.any preference in the after market brands?

All V belts are metric, the V belt quality and the
tensile strength of the nylon cord is the issue.
When buying a V-belt constructed of Kevlar thread
the belt color is green in most cases and is made
by Gates Rubber Company Inc.
AS long as you purchase a V belt thagt has the
same numerical designation it will work for you.
A Kevlar V belt will withstand shock loading much
better than a standard V belt for the same application.
