Cub Cadet 7205 Won\'t Start

Hello everyone, Im new to the site but I must say, it is a great resource. Anyway, I have a Cub Cadet 7205 diesel and it doesnt want to stay running. I tried starting it when it was real cold out, around 0 degrees, and it tried to start but would just stall once i let go of the starter. I thought the fuel was gelled so i put some additive in there and I also took out the fuel filter and there was some ice in there. Now it is about 50 degrees out and still doing the same thing. The other thing is that sometimes the glow plug light doesnt go on. I talked to the dealer and he thought it might be a glow plug but I have never worked on a diesel but I have heard glow plugs arent hard to replace, I just need to find them...haha. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

For starters I would junk the old fuel and the filter. Take the drain plug out of the tank and get rid of everything. If it wants to run but dies it almost has to be a fuel problem of some sort.?

Sounds like ice/water. Drain the old fuel and put new in along with a new fuel filter. Also, if the bowl had ice in it, I would inspect the bowl itself for cracks due to any swelling that may have occured. As for the glow plugs, it could be a couple of things. Your tractor has a glow plug relay and a glow plug controller. Usually, the relay will cause the light/glow plugs to not work or to work sometimes and not others. If you have a bad controller, the light will stay on, as well as the plugs and the glow plugs will burn up. Either way, I would pull the plugs and at least check to see that they are ok... generally, a Mitsubishi will not start without them.

well I have some updated info. The tractor still will not start, but I dont hear the glow plugs anymore and the light is not on when I turn the key on. Where do I go from here? Thanks

If you feel like an upgrade you might get the latest Mahindra 2015 glowplugs, relay box and harness. I think this is the latest and greatest from Mitsu... Your 7205 is the same tractor so it might be worth a shot?
