Cub Cadet LT 1050 PTO Problem

I have a LT1050 and when I engage the PTO it shuts down the engine. The PTO cluch will not engage, it's like turning the ignition off. I cheked the seat switch and it works fine.
If enyone has any ideas please reply.

Welcome to the TBN, It sounds like you may have it in reverse? mine does that when its in reverse, move your gearshift to neutral and try it again

I just purchased a LT1050 with a bearing lockup on the pto clutch. I put a new pto clutch on it and I cannot get it to work. I have power going to the pto switch but none coming out . The seat safety seems visibly to be intact. Where do I need to start searching for the problem?
