Cub Cadet made a GREAT Zero Turn Tractor

Got to comment on our '12 RZT 50.This thing has done us good. It has given us great service with the regular maintenance it gets. Love the 2 only grease zerts; deck belt is tolerable; blades are not bad to change. I was told the stamped deck was crap. She does 90% of the mowing; swings around trees; T posts; and whatever with no problem. The 22HP Kawasaki is a tiger; it DOES cut grass! I did find a better set of HD blades on Amazon I like better; they are thicker than the Gators. (25/free shipping). Problems: broken deck lift spring. Vise grips work.

I found the 1st time I took the deck off and back on it was more effort. From the second time on, the deck comes on and off very nicely. And spraying the underside of the deck with a spray polymer has really worked nicely too (to keep grass from accumulating).

Incidentally . . The snowblowing ability with a zero turn tractor with each rear wheel an independent differential is great. Great traction on my long steeper sloped driveway and tight turning for all our angled sidewalks and patios.

Bought an i1046 in 07 when the engine on our Sears died and I saw the add on TV. Have been cutting about 1.5 acres around the house with it for the last 9 years. All in all it has been a really good lawn tractor. Have had to replace the starter and the PTO switch but other than that it has been trouble free. Oops forgot the clutch/break did stick on it a few years ago but a squirt of CLP Break Free solved that issue. My main complaint if I had one is it has no cruse control, your foot gets tired when mowing open spaces.

Someone above said something about it only having two grease fittings.. Check your spindles, mine has grease fittings on the spindles, I give them a shot every spring when I check/sharpen the blades.

What you say, same but only worse. The i-series Cub Cadets were great machines and unique. Same as the 2000-3000 series; they're not made made anymore because homeowners are numbnuts who buy big box convenience and price, not knowing it's junk.

Home Depot did sell sell the i-series and now sell it's replacement the RZT-S 42 22 horse ,46 24 horse and 54" 25 horse.
