Cub Cadet XT3/2500 series vs John Deere X500 Series

How do these 2 series of machines compare?

The xt2 is more aligned with John Deere’s 300-series. I believe there’s one xt2 garden tractor with a k58 which is more robust and in line with the x320 or whatever replaced it. The X500 have serviceable transmissions, which is more akin to the xt3. I bought an xt3 gsx which was less than 1/2 the cost of a new Deere x580.

I didnt know there was that much of a price difference! There is one model in the xt2 line that has a k62 transmission.

I asked two different dealerships for quotes on thex580 with a 48” deck and bagger. Both came back at over $13,000!!!

OVER $13,000! Thats insane! You could buy a x700 series for that much money! (Or just get the cub you got with a better trans, engine, frame, the list goes on and on. And for half the price!) Thats about how much a kubota bx costs with no attachments. Deere has really gone off the deep end.

I bought my first compact tractor, a Cub Cadet 7200 with loader and rake for less than that brand new in 1998. I paid about $7500 for a brand new x530 in 2015 with mower, blower, tiller, weights and chains
