Hello , I just joined up and already have a question. I was directed to the site by a fella

who uses the name Winston on MTF, he also shared a thread on removing the mower deck from a Yanmar ex3200. I'm thinking of adding

the MMM to my tractor but I'd like some feed back from anyone who has used one before I take the plunge. The existing thread mostly talks

about difficulty in removing the mower deck, and only a brief comment on it's desirability as a mower. Also has anyone installed their own

center power take off? Was it worth doing it yourself? Finally anyone who did this would you mind discussing what it all cost in the end?

Thanks for any attention paid to this in advance. My EX3200 is an great tractor, I've had it 7 years but has only 250 hrs on the meter, I use it a lot too.

I don't have one. They certainly make sense for some ppl. But, the cost of the required equipment (mid-pto, etc), the fact that they aren't universally interchangeable, the cost of the deck itself, the weight of a CUT on the lawn, and tying up the tractor (we have several family members all begging for seat time) have been the primary motivators. There may be others :)

Besides, our property is, well, rustic. I'm sure we'd tear one to shreds.

YMMV!

Rustic, yup I know rustic, mine was pretty rustic about 30 years ago. I think 3 of us pulled out about 200 mower eating boulders right off the bat. Anyway, the weight issue is something that worried me too.

Our front yard holds the septics' leaching fields, I have been very careful never to drive over it with anything heavier than my SCAG 52" walk behind. A new system here is a $25,000 plus item. The cost of the additional

equipment, which so far I only have imagined, is another issue. My tractor is not a loaner, although I do let my grandsons drive it when they show up to help. The other things you mentioned are valid points too that I

have thought about. Like where do I store another implement?
