This is a small project compared to some others on here, but I thought I would share some pic's of a cultivator that I just recently resurrected from the dead. It was in bad shape as you can see from the before pic. I had to disassemble the whole thing, which was quite a job. Every single one of the rusty bolts put up a fight, some got wrung off, about twelve had to be ground off with the angle grinder, and the rest just didn't want to turn loose until I put breaker bar on them lol. I ordered four new 8" sweeps (two were good enough to re-use) from Agrisupply and bought mostly new hardware from the local hardware store. As for paint, I only knocked off the heavy rust with a wire brush wheel, primed it, and then shot it a coat of red rustoleum. There were no identifying marks or nameplates on it, so I have no idea who it was originally made by? Anyway, it's ready to go now.

What is the gross HP rating on your tractor? Do you size by width etc.. Hope this is not a stupid question. With ground engagement I think requirements really vary. Looks Great

It's 30hp, not sure it will even pull it with all 6 sweeps on it. That is pretty much dragging 6 boat anchors around!

Shouldn't be much of a problem. Those sweeps only go in 2 inches or so. They are not meant to be a primary tillage ( sod busting ), more to cultivate row crops, cutting off weeds just below the surface.

That looks great! How do you plan to use it? I've always wondered what these were for. Post some pics of it in action when you decide to get it dirty!
