I doubt that truck sales will ever be as high as they were in recent years, considering a lot of trucks were bought as a "look at me I'm cool because I have truck" mentality. Since the price of fuel has gone up, people are thinking "maybe I don't need that dually to go to Safeway for groceries", and have gone back to their minivans, or the little Jap truck they had before.
Then there is the govt doing it's damnedest to kill off the diesel truck market in this country by trying to make diesels meet the same emission standards as gas powered vehicles, I think in a few years the only ones buying trucks will be the ones who absolutely need one to get their work done.
