Thanks for your input cat297c, and sorry to hear about the control issue. Anybody have any experience with the FAE variable transmission mulching head?

Thanks for all the help guys:thumbsup:

After talking with several folks and considering the information I got here and other sites, I just signed the papers on a new 2010 TL250HF and a TL230...both with cab/ heat and air. Went with the FAE mulcher with the variable transmission.

All I can say is that I got a really, really awesome deal. Much better than the one I previously posted, but it was the result of having CAT, ASV and Takeuchi all doing whatever they could to seal a deal.

Right now Takeuchi has a 2 year 2k hour standard warranty, plus an additional 1 year and 1k hours for the powertrain. Nobody else would touch that.

I got a good trade in price for my 1845C, along with some extra odd's and ends that sweetened the deal.

I also told the Takeuchi dealer that I will be posting any experience I have with this equipment, both good and/or bad, on this forum.

Again, thanks for the help

Congrats on your machines. What is the turn around time in getting your machines or are they available immediately? ........... the 3 - 4 weeks getting my PT100 has suddenly turned into 6 -7 weeks .............. I'm starting to question my choice .............

I was told about 3 weeks...and I really dont want it any sooner because of the the workload in the shop will lighten up around the same time.

Well it's been 5 years and about 400 hours on the TL250 high flow and the base machine itself has performed great. However the reversing fan ended up causing the water pump shaft to break so I had them put the stock fan on when they replaced the pump (warranty). I'm on the second design change for the external oil cooler mounting and the second has failed twice (out of warranty) Evidently the weight of the cooler and enclosure, poor design and vibration causes breakage on the frame and cab. I'm now told they have a "Loft Ness" mount that is working better and I can buy that variant for $400. Since I have a fab shop, I'll be making the next go around myself before I'll pay for someone else's guess. All things considered the Takeuchi is a great machine but it has become painfully obvious that their high flow variant appears to be more of an off-the-cuff afterthought that is lacking the engineering and design that the rest of the machine is known for. Having that said, I will continue to address the issues as they present themselves. Also here's a little video of an early sixties tracked vehicle that we "improved" https://youtu.be/GS6XhCOFr3g
