I want to use a 2520 or 3320 for residential snow removal!
Does anyone know how good you would be able to scrape a driveway with a curtis plow? I want to attach one to a FEL but does the trip spring "trip" when you hit that ridge caused by a vehicle driving in and out a few times or will it blow right through it? If you put down pressure on the FEL will you just spin the rears or will they have enough power to keep on pushing - I am not worried about obvious loss of steering?
Plow will be for lighter snow - blower for heavy.
A curtis plow with some fabricated wings would move snow real quick I'm thinking!
A lot of questions:
Thanks in advance Mike

It's takes quite a large ice ridge to trip my 6 1/2' Curtis blade. Put down pressure Kubota B2910 will not cause the rear to spin except on ice. I have never used my chains for snow removal. If blade is angled when down pressure is used the front slides in direction of angled blade.
Having a Curtis blade on front of tractor moves a lot of snow quick. Main problem is if there is to much snow and there is no place to push it. The FEL and blade will allow you to pile it high though.

thanks for the info - do you angle alot or do you think you could get away with a box blade?

I have more area that requires angling than just pushing it straight. I help my neighbors out by plowing their 1/4 road when snow gets over 6". To do a good job 2 passes each direction are required to provide room for 2 cars.

So it is very difficult to steer with down pressure? I don't think I would even want skid shoes. I need to clean the drives all the way down, so I will always be applying pressure.
I was going to attach a poly urethaine blade so I don't damage the cement.
Thanks Mike

Here is a thread where I and others put rubber and wood on for cutting edges.

Has anyone attached a slit piece of automotive heater hose to the edge of their plow or FEL for clearing snow? I'm thinking of doing this on my FEL for this next winter, as my driveway was newly surface this spring and is much softer than it was.

I'd Goop the back edges of the heater hose to help hold it in place. Main problem might be quick wear.

Sold my Gravely. Don't have it's snow blade any more.
