Howdy!

I put a cab on my 2305 this winter, ran the heater hoses according to the directions (at least I think so).

There are two points I can see where the hoses are rubbing and have already worn flat spots into the hoses.

One is at the top of the apex as the hose goes over the air filter canister (rubs on the bottom of the hood).

The other is at the top lip of the lower hood assembly, where the hood meets the lower part.

And I haven't crawled underneath to see if it's wearing into the hoses in the tight areas next to the rubber engine mounts.

Anyone else w/ a curtis cab heater on a 2000 series have this problem?

Thanks!

Already had to replace and reroute the hoses. Keep checking them because one night mine wasn't leaking before I quit for the evening both hoses were leaking.
I had lost about 1/2 to 3/4 of the antifreeze.. close to loosing the engine.

Well that sure is disappointing. After spending what I spent on the cab, I've run the thing for 6 hours since the heater install, have very visible wear, and I'm not alone?

One of those wearing through and leaking without me knowing until it's too late is exactly what I'm concerned about.

Mine has 2 rub spots. I zip-tied a short piece of 3/4 inch heater hose slit length wise over the spots. I check it every now and then and replace as needed.

I would be a lot more concerned about one of them bursting and filling the cab with boiling hot water, antifreeze and steam.

If the tractor was moving that would be a life-threatening experience as you jumped out of a moving tractor...

That is and was my concern:::: I had mine inside foam wrap used on Water lines or air cond lines at your home...Mine had been leaking for some time just a very small leak and I could not tell....Since replacing and changing the route of the lines I have not put them back in the foam rap..

Just don't to loose an engine because of a small leak....

I'm not all that concerned about the hot coolant getting to me for a couple of reasons:

1. I've got a digital coolant temp gauge in there, and the highest I've seen it go so far is 162 degrees. So there would be no boiling and no steam. Sure I wouldn't want to get sprayed with 162 degree coolant, but it wouldn't be an explosive event, it would be a spray.

2. There's actually a pretty good seal at the point the hoses enter the cab. Beyond that, there's only 6" or so of hose inside the cab, and it's well protected. So when the hose does start to leak, I'm thinking the odds are pretty good the leak will be ouside the cab.
