Highridge,

How useful did you find the Johnny Bucket to be? Was it worth the money. I know getting a full bite of dirt or gravel would depend on the traction of your tractor, tires ect. Did you have the power dump /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I'm not Highridge, but here's my experience with one:

Nice attachment, but in no way compares to a PT...

I know it does not compare, I thought it would be nice to get for my wife so she can tool around the yard and feel productive. Kent, appears that your link to Johnny Bucket at the bottom of the article has been high jacked for a Web Search engine or maybe the link has changed. Just thought I would let you know. I read this article last year some time did not realize this was yours. Very well written and very interesting. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

It was worth the money for what I wanted to do at the time. I had it for a year and it was great but then I started needing more capability(and to compete with the neighbor and his 'bota /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif) On the craftsman, it worked good as long as you loaded the arse end down with weight. I also ended up with more aggressive tires since the craftsman didn't have diff-lock. I also had the power-dump(good investment)

Yah,

the Botas are everywhere. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif nice machines though. Looks like you have an all star lineup now. I still love that pic of your PT carrying off the tree stump with the grapple, like a giant beetle that just latched on to it's dinner. I think that was yours. Thanks

So, how does the PT-1430 compare to the 'Bota...

Don't want to get into brand-bashing, but compared to the little old Kubota B-6000 I had, the PT-425 has stronger hydraulics and literally will run circles around it...

The grapple and minihoe on the PT are quite remarkable for the $$....

Well I definatley think the PT is more versatile than his kubota but he only has a FEL, MMM, and a tiller, where I also have the minihoe and grapple for the PT. Although the bota is more refined in a way(kubota diesel, dealer network, etc.), I'd keep the PT. For what it does that a normal CUT can't. There have been times where I really glad I bought the PT because a normal CUT just wouldn't (pun) cut it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Barry,

Thanks for the feedback. I corrected those links -- there were actually two bad ones... John Scheele is a great guy and really stands behind his products.

Let us know if you decide to try this approach of a "bucket doubler" -- I have a 45" Rock Bucket that's not being used, and will need to be moving a whole lot of mulch...

Well actually, I will be buying the LMB instead for my uses, along with a few other attachments on my list. The doubler measures 42 inches from inside. Thinking that should fit the PT 180 rock bucket almost perfect, but for your larger rock bucket on the 425.... 45 inches, might take a little bit of rigging on your part. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Speaking of small rock buckets. I was a little disappointed in not seeing more feedback on your, (getting more use out of your rock bucket) thread. Seems there would be many creative possibilities for it. I'm sure sooner or later someone will have a light bulb moment, and it will resurface. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
