The funniest thing just happened just as I was getting ready to quit working in my shop last night. (Actual work, I work from home, doing,...work stuff, but in a different part of my shop). I stepped out in the main area where my tractor & BH76 backhoe was at and I just took a looking at it, which is on a rolling storage dolly, and spied a yellow scrapped project cylinder next to it on a shelf. I looked at the BH thumb, then the cylinder. Pause. Thumb. Cylinder. Thumb, then cylinder.
"Naw" I declared while my brain said "Oh for pete's sake, check it out!"
Lacking confidence, I grabbed the cylinder and positioned it next to the mechanical thumb to see if it was the right length.
It was identical.
I then though that the pins wouldn't be the right size. Took the top pin out to try it on the cylinder holes.
It matched.
"Too good to be true, the thumb would bang against the cylinder" I thought. So I took the pins out, yanked that tubular thingamabob and placed the cylinder in the same spot.
It fits.
The hydraulic gods have shined upon me! I shouted with excitement while my poor lab looked at me as if I lost my marbles and waited by the door, wanting to go back in the house.
Of course, I'm momentarily cursed by the time constraints of my busy work schedule (blessed nevertheless) but I'm definitely am going to excited to jump on this very soon!
Thought I'd share it with you all before I hit the sack. Hopefully I'll sleep.
Woot!
