Custom weld-on chain hitches

Bravo!
Those "hooks" look great.
To me, what really looks good about these is - the load on the chain has a straight pull on the hook.
The usual weld-on hooks seem like the tension pulls them to the side as weight is applied. Not to mention, more weld area.
Two thumbs up!!
BTW, how much are you getting for a pair of them?

Sorry, they are not for sale.
What I like mostly about TBN is the willingness of each and every member to share their ideas and experiences. We are much more than a group of old fat ladies chatting about the neighbours indescretions.
When I posted those original pics of the chain hooks I was not doing so for commercial purposes. I purposely haven't sold any, BamaRob got his pair free because I wasn't going to use them and he expressed an interest. I am glad to see others also are interested.
My livelihood is derived from my designs so I do make certain claims about this design and commercial exploitation is protected against.

I don't mean to sound like a New York lawyer, I believe we are put on Earth to help each other and I'm glad to be of some help. Pass it forward.

All the best,
Martin

Oh Yeah, small it is. It is so small that on Smith Hill there is a great deal of incest, but we don't call it incest, we call it government. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have a lot to say about America's smallest state, let is suffice to say "It's a good place to be from!"
I do a lot of diving up at Cape Ann, very nice, very expensive.
Connecticut and Pennsylvania acreage prices are looking pretty good to me right now, probably some incest there too but I just can't touch retirement acreage around here and the taxes are eating me alive. Did you know you never really own the land, stop paying the tax and see who really own's it.
I'm rambling. Bye.

All the best,
Martin

Through trial and error, I designed a 3 pt hitch setup for my tractor that allowed me to use a regular 2" trailer receiver insert. That way, I could move my trailer around without ever having to get off my tractor. It worked really well, and I sold a few on eBay to recover some of my costs. I then posted drawings on here so others could make the hitch for themselves. The next thing I know, my hitch is now being sold here on TBN and I'm told that I cannot post my original drawings of the hitch I designed years ago. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I wouldn't be too surprised if your nice design didn't show up for sale here and you are told that you cannot show them any longer. I've since designed and built a 3 pt hitch setup to move gooseneck trailers (what I use now). I'll be darned if I ever show that design!!

Dargo,
You and AntrimMan both make good points.

Some people give /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif, and some people take /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. And still others exploit. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Thanks for your reply.

Dargo, the principal behind you being prohibited to post your drawings is clear to me. If you advertised competitively would you be permitted? Sad turn of events in my mind but easily taken care of if one has prepared for the possibility.
What I stated was...My livelihood is derived from my designs so I do make certain claims about this design and commercial exploitation is protected against.
Words are important. I meant what I stated. I'm prepared.

Hey, what happened to the dog?

All the best,
Martin
