Although I personally don’t see it as a problem, drilling the ROPS to mount anything is a “no, no” as far as the manufactures are concerned. If you are concerned about warranties or manufacture liabilities, in case of a failure, it would be better to clamp the lights to the ROPS. Just something to consider as you plan your projects.

I know about drilling in rops, but since I don't use them as they are intended, I would have just removed them. They make a great spot to place lights so they stayed.
