Cut a little hay ground today ... pictures

I am having flash backs to the gazillion bales of hay I bucked in my youth; feeling faint must go lie down; fading fast...

:laughing: Same here, I saw everyone out cutting hay this week, I just went ughhh in my mind. Luckily this year my folks are switching to round bales for the horses as they feel they are getting older and short on time during the day to deal with a 1k square bales. I had no problem agreeing as I hate the summer and I hate hay.

Complete hay noob here: Do you have to re-plant the grass every year?

Do you water it?

You said "prarrie grass": Is your field ever under water (that happens to the "prairies" we have here in FL)

No I don't plant it ... as long as its maintained it just keeps coming back. My native prarrie grass does not flood or go under water.

By maintained do you mean just fertilize & mow (make hay)?

Spray. Fertilize. gopher plow, subsoil amd make hay ... did I mention pray for rain!!
