Sales are up over a record year last year. AEM Sales Figures This does not include the Gray Market as well. It seems as if increased steel prices have pushed some into purchasing now before the prices increase. Soon we should start to see inventory arriving on the lot with higher prices.

The increased asking prices have pushed me into keeping my old Ford for a few more years. Have to put new front tires on it, and replace the transmission fluid, then it'll be good for a few hundred more hours. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I finally convinced the wife that we can get by without a new tractor... besides spending the money on her 20x30 covered patio and my new 24x30 shop makes more sense as they will both see much more use.

Perhaps in a few years, I will do a wholesale switch to a Sub-Cut + implements, but for now, the market is too much in favor of the sellers.

I think the sad reality is that the CUT sales are up 15% because there are a lot of us getting to the point that our bodies won't do what our minds want to do. . . so we have to get a machine to do it for us.

Bob,

Perhaps that is why my wife was pushing for new (with loader, power steering and HST) tractor... I guess I'll have to watch the moans and groans after a day on the tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Couldn't have said it better!! Many of us don't have the time or physical ability to do the jobs we once done so we invest in equipment and keep plugging away to satisfy the appetite. It's either that or spend the money to have it done for you. Ask yourself which is more fun??

I think the invention of Viagra is directly related to the increase in CUT sales.

After all, Viagra has resulted in alot more happy wives...

And happy wives are alot more likely to let their husbands buy tractors ! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I keep seeing in various reports and news stories that the price of goods made from steel will increase in the future.
It makes me curious what kind of increases we can expect for a medium size CUT when the cost hike finally hits....
does anyone have a rough idea?
