Sorry AndyM...... you are not quite correct on that one..... I have seen that digger in a rental yard in MA. I just never paid much attention to it. I know that I won't be over that way any time soon, but when I do, I will take a picture of it for you. The reason that a lot of these small cute cars aren't imported any longer is due to the EPA regulations and other things such as the Motor Vehicle Safety Act that requires all forms of crash safety measures and testing that just don't make it practical for manufacturers to do on small scale production vehicles. I would love to see things like the original Beetle kept in production and imported. There is a car museum that wanted to purchase one of the last Beetles produced and put it on display in the States, but the U.S. Federal Government wouldn't allow it to be imported because it didn't meet the safety and emission standards. It wasn't going to be sold, but displayed, but it didn't matter. NO GO was the answer. The Federal Government isn't flexible on on automobile related issues. Wait to see what the tractor selection will diminish to once all the EPA rules are implemented for diesel emissions. Prices will skyrocket and selection will plummet!!! What this country needs is a few more tree huggers to lobby their representative to continue their fight to put the rest of the country out of work. The tree huggers should become the next endangered species. The forums don't allow for political discussion or I could tell you about the other side of the coin also... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I probably have already gone overboard.....
