Mowing cutter for BX2200

I'm a newbie with 15 acres of trees and prairies to maintain in the Waterloo, Il area... I'm in need of a pto operated brush cutter, and other pto accesories like log spliiters etc but i'm not sure what would be appropriate for this small tractor...and so i'm looking for new or used equipment but i don't see much in this area ....any suggestions are welcome

Used equipment is hard to find in the size appropriate for the BX2200. Woods makes a good rotary cutter as does Land Pride and probably Bush Hog. Check your manual to see what size is recommended and you can usually go up a little from that. I am unaware of any PTO powered log splitter, but check the Woods site for their equipment line to get ideas. Good luck, the BX2200 is a good little tractor.

If all you are cutting is wild tall grass, a number of 48" light and medium duty rotary cutters would be fine. 60" would really be pushing it for a BX. If you need to cut denser material, a 40" Heavy Duty Gearmore model is what will work well. I have one on my BX2200 and am able to cut clusters of 2" saplings with it.

For a rear log splitter, you will probably need to tap into the port that's available for a rear remote hydro line. I had that line put on mine when I got the Woods BH6000 backhoe. Now that the hydro line is in place, other rear hydraulics such as log splitter, top 'n tilt, etc. could be used.
