a weeks worth of growth and its not even summer yet.

i need nearly full "540" speed (aka 2200 rpm) for avg mowing. Taller grass requires less HST peddel.

If this was the first mowing, dont complain too much.. I have mowed four times so far this year and its needs the fifth right now.. I only have time to cut it once a week and by then its well past the point of needed a trim..

Its taking me about 3 to 4 hours to push my yard, but the 2320 is on order and should be here next week (or so the dealer says LOL)..

Your R-4's do not appear to tear up your lawn. It appears you folded your ROPS because of the tree. Just a reminder to raise your ROPS! Jay

oh no, it was the 4th cutting this season.

and i just recently folded it down. ive fought the trees for months now and decided to fold it down recently, to "give it a try". Im sorry i waited so long. no more fighting the clothes line, the fruit trees, etc.

as for tear up the yard..... depends....

ive learned what will tear up the yard and what doesnt. if i even look at the yard when its raining or within 24 hrs of a decent rain im leaving 3" ruts EVERYWERE! 4wd and hard turns = scuffed turf.

other than that, im happy. They arnt turf tires, but they arnt R1's either soooooo

You should see what weighted R-1's in 4WD can do

ya every time i start doing heavy FEL work i long for weighted rears... then every time i want to tip toe around the kinda wet yard (even if it isnt to mow the grass) i cringe at the ruts....

sooooooo im sticking with no liquid rears and stick to 3pt ballest i can remove

My Son uses a 4300 JD with R1s and a RFM. He plows his lawn this time of year. But he mows around five acres of what used to be pasture so he doesn't mind a few ruts.

I don't notice my Bota rutting any worse than my JD even though it is twice the weight. It's on a lot bigger tire. What I do notice is I tend to go into places that I shouldn't with the Bota because I can use 4wd to get out. That's when you leave some serious marks!!! My JD is on R1 rears. My Bota is on R4s.

We are on a six day mowing schedule and will stay that way until it gets hotter and drier. Terry rides the JD and I ride the Bota, we mow around 3 acres, takes us a couple hours, so we have no complaints.

I mowed my lawn 4 times IN MARCH..... We had 3 weeks of 80+ degree weather then. I'm mowing unused pastures for the 2nd time already this year. A hay field next to my place looks almost ready to cut already. (Orchard grass/Alfalfa mix) If the weather holds, we won't be able to GIVE hay away this year.
