Same here, straw is used as bedding and soil retention (construction projects). Guys used to cover straw bales and fill with anhydrous ammonia and use it as feed, but with current fertilizer prices that practice has gone away...

Definately soybeans. No till or minium till after winter wheat. Saves fuel and
preserves moisture in the soil; which is very important as right now we are
**DRY**.
