cutting a little steel

   / cutting a little steel #52
Some old (cheap) wood miter saws can be adapted to make metal cut off saws for cutting angles etc...
The 1/16" cut-off wheels on 4.5" grinders work amazingly well even for thicker stock (3/8, 1/2 etc.) just takes a little longer..

I have successfully cut some tight radius's with a thin cut-off wheel...

Good Luck...

This is what I did and it works surprisingly well! I've cut through 1/8 steel pretty easily and nice and even...

Nightforce, which one are you referring to? Using an old wood miter saw, or using the angle grinder?

If you're talking about using an old miter saw to cut metal, that's what I'm thinking about doing myself. I have an old HF 8-1/4" miter saw that I don't use anymore, and thought about finding a low priced carbide tipped metal cutting blade that's within the rpm limits of the saw.
