I've cleaned whisles by blowing thru the vent with a shop vac. Make sure the fill cover is off.

I know you are blowing, and not sucking the fumes, and it is kerosene, not gasoline, but I think I would prefer compressed air to a shop vack. Maybe I'm over safety consious but I'd be afraid to use an electric motor around any petroleum fumes.

Yea, I try not to do that either...... Mythbusters did a show on that and busted it, but I still hate to say it cant happen.... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
