Cutting angles for welding

/ Cutting angles for welding #21
Porta bands are very versatile. If you buy one get a corded deep cut. Preferably a Milwaukee. They are the straightest cutting ones. These new cordless ones have a lot of slop in them and make cutting harder. Another tool to consider is a 6" Metabo grinder. Use a good quality .045 cutting wheel. I like the Walter brand. A cheap wheel will wonder and not last as long.

I just looked back and this thread is 16 years old. Wonder what the OP did.

+1 on the Evoulution cold saw. I did some horse trading and got the compound sliding mitre saw. Cuts crazy angles of all sorts. You just have to be cool and let it move the metal. Lean on it and it will cost you a new blade. Also use a variable angle bandsaw for general agles or larger material. Lots of ways to cut angles. I use them all.
