Cutting/Chamfering Electrodes, did I waste my money?

Aaron, let me ask you this: since any straight cut you would make with a cutting rod, whether it was just some 6011 or these "cutting rods" would have to have quite a bit of time cleaning up the cut with an angle grinder anyway, why not just spend that time with an angle grinder with a cutting wheel in it to begin with. I think you will find the cut is better and will spend less time cleaning it up to be ready for use, probably cost less, and be less frustrating. Those are my thoughts.

I am not sure when I will use them (if at all). I figured for $5 they might be worth playing with.
Might use them if I need to cut something thick.
For other cutting I have angle grinders, cutting wheels and a torch. Just looking to see what else is out there.
Probably not going to buy more, but I will hang onto these to play with some day.

I cant imagine getting slag from a air arc in your ear, noisy too CJ
I think the worst carbon arc job I ever had. Someone welded flatbar inside a pile driving follower. I had to arc out all the welds holding the flatbars. No where for the sparks to go but right in my face.
