Cutting Fluid/Coolant

i used to use rapidtap, or crown's cutting oil . Got tired of the mess and rancid oil everywhere.

Now i almost always use TapMatic gold or tapmatic's "Tricut" if im working in stainless. Good good products and much cleaner

Tapfree Excel from Winbro I have used it for a long time and really like it.

I came across this thread in searching for a drilling coolant to use on my drill press. I want something that is safe non toxic, requires no clean up prior to welding and wont cause an oily mess. I've been using straight dish soap not mixed with water or anything. It works well for cooling the metal but stinks when I weld. No matter how much the outside of tubing is wiped there will always be residue on the inside that burns off from the welding heat.

I have been using Anchorlube G-771 for drilling and tapping in steel. I ran out and was using ridged cutting oil for a while. Now back to Anchorlube, a soap-n- water type product. It smells better than the cutting oils as well.
