I needed to cut 6 steel plates that are 5/16" thick and 6" wide. Never missing an opportunity to buy a new tool, I purchased the Evolution Rage Multi-purpose Saw for $149 online at
Evolution Rage. This is a 7 1/4" circular saw designed to cut just about everything so I figured I would give it a try. The saw made the cuts in the steel with just about the same effort and time as a regular circular saw would cut standard 2x6 lumber. When the cut was finished, the steel was still cool to the touch and required very little dressing.
How does this relate to the Power-trac forum? Well, how many threads are there about making custom attachments? The saw can even make bevel cuts that are ready to weld.
