According to Bill's exploded view at satohparts.com mine is on the left side. To look at mine go to Bill's website, choose parts, scroll down the S-470 oil level plug. Your case may be different than mine.

what is that bar thing that is near that plug bolt.looks like some kind of brake lever.what do u use it for?hey oliver i put up some pics does it look like yours?
That lever locks in the rear differential (both rear wheels pull instead of just one side) for better traction. Push it down to lock in, when you take your foot off of it, it locks back out.

any one knows what the tire pressure should be?

There's a detent ball, that keeps the rear end from slipping out of the range you've set it in. Keep the holes the ball goes into free from dirt.

so far the tractor works pretty ok. i dug up a hole with it about 3 to 4 feet deep.i do not like the starting up. u have to pre heat it with the glow plugs for about 2 minutes before it would start. now it is getting colder it is getting harder to start. the hi lo med range shifter you have to be careful with.this is the first tractor i have so i cant compare it to any.the koyker loader i have attached to it works nice.paid about 3700. for the tractor.the loader is seperate.do not have any other attachments. the four wheel drive makes a big difference. i would say u can do more with this tractor than a same size 2wd tractor.i bought on the net i did not try out before i bought.took a gamble.mine has about 1300 hrs

i tried starting my mitsu and it did not start so i kept pre heating the glow plugs. well this is what happened the glow light that is on the dash ,it is sort of like a salt shaker. it got so hot that it started to melt the dash. i dont think this should happen. any one with this problem? any way i got it to start.the glow plug light have to be taken care of it is almost all the way through the dash. thinking of supporting it on metal suspended on the dash.would like to know why it melted through.

My son inadvertently left the key in the "heat" position one time and melted the dash too. I cut a small sheet of metal and placed it over the melted area on the dash. I then cut a hole in it for the "lamp" (or what ever you want to call it) to go through. Your dash melted because the glow plugs are not meant to have to be used for 2 minutes straight and the "lamp" on the dash has an element in it that gets red hot. At most, 15-20 seconds is all it should take to help get things started. Having to use the glow plugs for 2 minutes in order to get the engine started in pretty mild weather sounds as if you may have a more serious problem. Not sure what that might be...low compression maybe?

was told that it could be worn out glow plugs. that if they they read 1.1 ohm they will take too long to heat up.the plugs should read 1.89 ohms.did any one have to change glow plugs based on these readings.i am not sure if i want to take them out cause i dont know if they will break on me.i am putting a piece of metal like u suggest to mount the new glow indicator.the switch for the glow plug should not stay on if you are not holding it it is spring loaded to return to off.your sw may have a problem.

any one out there familar with the fuel filter bowl.well when my tractor came i think the fuel bowl was clear and i could see the fuel inside.now the thing is dark brown and u cannot c anything inside. is this normal?the tractor starts and run ok.

   / d1850fd #34
I think you are OK. Mine is brown, but I do think when they're brand-new they're clear, and just brown with having fuel in them as they age. If you like, you can check/clean and replace your fuel filter in there; that's the more important thing.

Or, in my case, discover there wasn't any fuel filter at all. :) So, I added one I bought from Napa. Follow your manual's instructions on how to shut off the fuel flow, pull the bowl, check/replace the filter, put it back together, and follow the instructions on how to bleed the fuel line, or it won't start from the bubbles in the lines. It's pretty easy to prime/bleed it.

I also bought a bottle of Diesel engine fuel cleaner and added that to the fuel tank; I think it ran just slightly smoother after that.
