KaiB,
I got to reading this thread and gettig a little lonesome for my dad. He is 83 and will come once again over to Provence to help us with the olive harvest, he just likes to work. Period. So I went and looked at a few pics of my dad and will psot them here.
Believe me my parents have a nest egg but they wonn't spend any especially on new clothes. In fact they specifically say, "Don't buy me any clothes I don't need any" Well he loves this old old sports coat powder bue, and the lining is all tore out. Finally last year my mom jsut cut out most of the lining on the lower half and sewed it up a bit under the arm pitts. Last eyar before he left Nico and I insisted on buying him a new leather sports coat. he went for it, and as long as i ahd him in a mens store he got a matching pair of slacks and sweater. Of course he wore it on the plane ride home and every Sundy the same outfit until it got to warm. Here are pictures of him and us right before we took him to the airport to return home. Oh and the first pic is my dad givig the OK signal to the photographer that he is happy working.
